Focus on Project Management Lead by Raina Knox

An organization the size of Kraai Consulting, LLC. is not typically as focused on Project Management as much as they are on the technology consulting that is the bread and butter of the organization. Most large Global 2000 organizations that make up the customer base for Enterprise Content Management consulting engagements have their own project management. Kraai has customers in all states of internal organizational strategy, and saw the need to build a flexible project management methodology that could drive internal efforts for success but also interact with external client methodologies to allow for seamless integration of their technological offering into client driven projects.

In May of 2007, Kraai began an initiative to create this methodology and build a PMO that would have that flexibility. By February 2008, and as part of an initiative to rework the management of the company to alleviate some of the stress on the two Managing Partners, Scott Kaufmann and Robert Kraai, Raina Knox was hired to finalize and lead the Project Management efforts.

Raina has an extensive management background specializing in information technology, project management and process improvement. Her education is based in both management and technology and she uses her process and project skills to drive efficiencies in the management of projects and organizations. The project management methodology she brought to Kraai is the product of several successful company implementations and has been optimized for a technical consulting environment. Her dissertation topic is centered in project management and she spends a significant amount of time researching project management as an art and science and uses this knowledge to ensure Kraai projects are delivered as committed.

"We have seen great projects fail because they were mismanaged, and we don’t ever want to be a part of that. With the new methodology we have controls in place that we know are necessary to a successful ECM solution."
