Kraai Consulting Completes Phase 1 of Operation: Quiet Comfort Strategy
May 27, 2008

Kraai Consulting, a Kansas based Enterprise Content Management (ECM) consulting firm, announced today that they have completed the roll out of the new look for the Operation: Quiet Comfort (OQC) website. OQC is a nonprofit based in Michigan that supports United States Troops overseas through various projects designed to meet their needs. OQC engaged with Kraai Consulting to donate time, resources, and hosting to provide a strategy for their Content needs. The first phase of this strategy involved Kraai taking over the maintenance and hosting of the OQC web site.

As a charitable organization, most of the manpower behind OQC is from volunteers. Almost all the funds they raise go towards the supplies and efforts to support their mission. The site was originally maintained by Sherry Stokes, who also graciously volunteered her time and energy to help create the ECM strategy with Kraai. Future phases will include user managed Web Content Management, Content Collaboration, user login and submission of content, Collaborative calendaring and email, and other ECM functionalities. The end result will be the OQC Portal.

"Our website has a new look, and it's just PHASE 1 of what will be our new web portal!" says Lori Pate, Executive Director and Founder of Operation Quiet Comfort. "..we still have some updates to make, like the Sponsor page, and we're working really hard on it. Getting the new site up was important so that the other [Content Management efforts] can happen."

OQC has a strong desire to support their community. The web site will assist OQC in keeping in touch with their sponsors, volunteers, the troops as well as providing a better place to collaborate on the OQC mission. The OQC Portal will help with fund raising and in supporting the long term needs of the community that utilizes it.

"Including me, Kraai Consulting employs several veterans who have served during war time. We are proud to play this small part in supporting our troops overseas and their families at home," says Robert Kraai, managing Partner and founder of Kraai Consulting.

"As a veteran of the Vietnam War, I can appreciate the important role of home support in keeping the troop’s moral high. It strengthens the feeling that the average citizen really does care about what the troops are trying to accomplish and what they are going through. Operation Quiet Comfort is a great organization," says Max Roux, Senior Associate, Kraai Consulting.
